At almost 42, I have already lived through more professional reinventions than I can easily count.
My life did not follow the straight, reassuring line people like to present in biographies and professional profiles: study, graduate, build a career in the same field, progress steadily and eventually arrive somewhere that looks like success. I have two degrees, a master’s degree and an almost-completed doctorate, yet I do not work even 20% in the areas for which I originally trained.
That is the truth. It is not a carefully polished version of it.
Is this the career I dreamed of?
No.

That answer does not frighten me anymore.
Do I regret rebuilding myself as a translator, content localizer, transcreator and specialist in MTPE, linguistic evaluation and AI training?
Never.
This career may not be the one I imagined at the beginning, but it is mine. I have built it through real work, continuous learning and a refusal to confuse a changed direction with a wasted life.

At almost 42, I am not starting from nothing.
I am starting from everything I have survived, studied, taught, translated, questioned, and learned.
I have on my background Archaeology Studies, Music Studies, Musicology Research Strategies, and so, so much more!
And I am still building. I will rise as many times as necessary.
Because of me?
No.
For my family.
They are the most important pillar that allows me to do that.
I have one life – nothing obliges me to have one single career.
Especially not my family. I will rebuild myself as many times as necessary for them.
